Vishnu Gupta, popularly known as Chanakya, was a scholar in Economics and Political Science who taught as a professor in Takshashila University. He was the chief advisor to the King Chandragupta Maurya and played a crucial role in the establishment of the Mauryan empire. The book, written by him, comprises of *Neetis* and *Sutras*. While the *Neetis* aim at the cultivation of virtues and wisdom, the *Sutras* contain the rules for enterprise and life management. These words of wisdom enlighten people to lead a quintessential life. Though originally meant to guide the Mauryan king to rule his kingdom wisely, but these words hold no lesser relevance in even today’s time.
